Since 1998, Osorno has developed a particularly close working relationship with the Avalon Institute of Applied Science, a private research-oriented academic institution.
This working relationship led to the two organizations sharing office and laboratory space. In 2012, the shareholders of the Avalon Institute agreed to a friendly take-over by Osorno. Since then, the Avalon Institute has formally become Osorno’s science division.
As Osorno's scientific division, the Avalon Institute performs contractual research, provides scientific advice, and conducts special laboratory analyses. At the same time, we continue research projects outside of Osorno’s business activities — in particular, large-scale projects.
Currently, the institute is working on the international multidisciplinary project "From the Caspian to Mediterranean: Environmental Change and Human Response during the Quaternary", which has been continuing for almost a decade.
We constantly widen our expertise by collaborating with academic institutions. Our doors are always open for collaboration, for new research, and for new customer requests.
